Christopher Steadman works in a range of genres including photographic and video installations.
Born in England, Steadman moved to the U.S.A. where he worked and studied in NYC, receiving a MA in Photography from NYU/ICP. He returned to London and completed his MFA at Central St. Martins in 2000 for which he received a British Academy Arts and Humanities Research Bursary.
Steadman's work has been shown internationally in New York, London, Moscow, Paris, Berlin among other cities in Europe, the U.S.A. and the Russian Federation. He has won many awards and grants for his art practice, and fellowships from numerous international artists' residencies.
Steadman continues to create and develop multi-media installations, expanding the number of monitors/screens used and the technical complexity of his medium. His recent installations come across as more polished, yet manage to maintain the excitement and innovation of something raw, homemade, and deeply personal.
